I realised how beautiful and interesting they are as objects,” says Markunpoika. The designer was inspired by the pencils on his desk which lead him to create the ‘Amalgamated’ collection of crafty vases that was designed by fusing the pencils together then shaping the vase like you would any piece of wood to get just the right shape required. So if you are looking for a completely novel vase, this is definitely it. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.6/10 - Popularity: 20% | Activity: 19% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Crafty Vases:** The trend of creating vases using unconventional materials such as pencils opens up opportunities for unique and artistic home decor designs. - **Amalgamated Collection:** The trend of fusing materials together, like pencils, to create new and innovative collections of homeware offers opportunities for creative and customizable products. - **Novel Home Decor:** The trend of using unexpected materials like pencils to create decorative accents brings a fresh and eye-catching element to interior design. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Home Decor:** The home decor industry can embrace the crafty vases trend to offer customers unique and artistic pieces that stand out in the market. - **Craft and Design:** The craft and design industry can explore the possibilities of fusing unconventional materials, like pencils, to create innovative and customizable products. - **Interior Design:** The interior design industry can incorporate the use of unexpected materials, such as pencils, in decorative accents to bring an element of novelty and visual interest to spaces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Colorful Geometric Ceramic Vases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/barva-vases.md) - [Milled Three-Dimensional Puzzle Vases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ceramic-bodies.md) - [Stackable Clay Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/torre-vases.md) - [Nordic-Inspired Glass Blown Vases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fab-vase.md) - [Nature-Inspired Colorful Glass Vases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/anemona.md) - [Copper Tubular Minimal Vases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hiroyuki-yuasa.md) - [Exquisite Circular Vases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/salt-vases.md) - [Sculpturally Provocative Vases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vibrant-sculptural-vase.md) - [Minimalist Illusory Vases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vaso-gota-vase.md)
