Designed by M2 Design Studio, this country-inspired apartment is located in an [old reconstructed heritage building](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/danil) [by the sea](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/casa-de-praia) in Varna, Bulgaria. Full of ingenious little details to embed the sense of the Bulgarian spirit, the design is dominated by a green and deep red palette and authentic wood-carved details to pay homage to culture symbols and motifs. “Our main focus was to have handmade furniture, lamps, decorative objects, beams and natural materials that would create a cozy and warm feeling in the apartment. We designed many objects specifically for this project: the wall panels with circle motifs, the night lamps and the coffee table. The Lace wall panels and mirror were inspired from an old flower lace I found years ago from my grandmother," says the design team. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.9/10 - Popularity: 36% | Activity: 12% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Country-inspired Design:** Embracing the design elements of a specific country's culture, history, and traditions can create a unique and personalized aesthetic in homes or spaces. - **Handmade Furniture and Decor:** Incorporating handmade furniture, lamps, and decorative objects can add a sense of authenticity and craftsmanship to interior design projects. - **Use of Natural Materials:** Using natural materials such as wood and authentic fabrics can create a warm and cozy atmosphere in living spaces. ### Where This Applies - **Interior Design:** Interior designers can explore country-inspired design to offer clients unique and personalized spaces. - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Furniture manufacturers can focus on creating handmade and artisanal pieces to cater to the demand for authentic and personalized home decor. - **Textile and Fabric Industry:** The textile and fabric industry can provide authentic and traditional fabrics, such as lace, that can be incorporated into interior design projects. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Ukranian All-Beige Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/allbeige-home.md) - [Electric Heritage-Based Apartments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/landscape-alley.md) - [Contemporary Artful Bright Apartments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/krakow-apartment.md) - [Whimsical Vibrantly Decorated Apartments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/daria-vasilkova.md) - [Artful Updated 70s Apartment](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/art-curators-apartment.md) - [Nostalgic 70s-Inspired Apartments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-special-studio.md) - [Texture-Varying Apartment Interiors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flat-6.md) - [Bright Tranquil Residential Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mlynchik-residence.md) - [Surreal Kyiv Interiors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/apartment-with-a-lizard.md)
