# Organic Urbanism Abodes This Country Residence Acommodates both the Natural and Urban Spheres By Vasiliki Marapas | Published 2014-11-22 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/country-residence References: [contemporist](http://www.contemporist.com/2014/11/20/riba-house-by-svoya-studio/) & [svoya-studio](http://svoya-studio.com/) Ukraine-based [SVOYA Studio](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/apartment-with-a-lizard) designed the interior of the '[Riba House](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/six-columns),' a modern country residence. The brief called for a cozy, contemporary interior. The architects decided to emphasize the clients appreciation for florals and plant life. To keep things interesting, the designers contrasted the [floral accents and decorations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/leaf-house-1) with juxtaposing elements; for instance, dark matte wood, polished marble and black gloss. The black gloss in particular interacts beautifully with the panels of moss in the kitchen, creating an engaging visual statement. The interior concept features three columns, each featuring the izdereva design element, of concrete cased in wood. Though on the surface the materials may seem unrelated, they harmonize with one another to demonstrate an unexpected marriage between the organic and the urban. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.5/10 - Popularity: 76% | Activity: 51% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Cozy Contemporary Interior Design:** Opportunity for designers to create inviting and modern spaces with a focus on comfort. - **Juxtaposing Elements in Design:** Designers can experiment with contrasting materials and textures to create visually striking interiors. - **Harmonizing Organic and Urban Elements:** Opportunity to blend natural and urban elements in design to create unique and harmonious spaces. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Interior Design:** Innovative materials and design concepts can be applied to create unique and appealing interiors for residential and commercial spaces. - **Home Decor:** Opportunity to create home decor products that combine natural and urban elements, offering a distinct and modern aesthetic. - **Architecture:** Architects can explore the incorporation of organic and urban elements in their designs to create visually striking and sustainable buildings. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Ukranian All-Beige Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/allbeige-home.md) - [Bright Tranquil Residential Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mlynchik-residence.md) - [Refined Urban Interiors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/primrose-apartment.md) - [Log Cabin-Inspired Modern Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/balbek-bureau.md) - [Reisdential Cottage Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/borova-lada-cottage.md) - [Surreal Kyiv Interiors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/apartment-with-a-lizard.md) - [Nature-Connecting Warm Apartments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/baranowitz-kronenberg.md) - [Rural Charred Modern Residences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stanfordville-house.md) - [Monochrome Living Spaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/grigio-verde.md)
