Ok, I'm not really going to, but Dolly fans out there will know this is the start of the awesome song, Nine to Five :-) This brings me onto the news is that Dolly Parton has penned songs for a [Broadway](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-first-shadow) musical based on the 1980s film by the same name which starred Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin. Including Parton's original score, the musical will tell the story of three colleagues who plot to turn the tables on their sexist, lying boss. Want to go and see it? You will have to wait for it to open on Broadway on 23 April 2009. Above is a video to whet your appetite. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.9/10 - Popularity: 25% | Activity: 83% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Live Arts](https://www.trendhunter.com/livearts) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Broadway Musicals:** Opportunity for integrating popular music icons into Broadway productions. - **Film Adaptations:** Chance to transform popular films into engaging theatrical experiences. - **Gender Equality:** Innovation potential for storytelling that empowers women and challenges gender stereotypes. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Entertainment:** Disruptive opportunities for creating unique and engaging live performances. - **Music:** Potential for collaboration between musicians and theater professionals in creating original scores for musicals. - **Social Activism:** Space for theater to advocate for gender equality and drive positive social change. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Celebrity-Inspired Cookware Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dolly-parton-1.md) - [Country Star Lipstick Lines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dolly-parton-2.md) - [Singer Holiday Decor Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/heart-home-holiday.md) - [Singer-Collaborative Kitchen Pans](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/please-dont-take-my-pan.md) - [Celebrity-Backed Baking Mixes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dolly-parton.md) - [Country Star-Collab Glamorous Denim](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/joleans.md) - [Celebrity-Backed Breakfast Mixes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/duncan-hines-dolly-parton.md) - [Affordable Summer Home Kitchenware](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/heart-home.md) - [Celebrity-Starring Livestream Events](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/talkshoplive.md)
