# Whale-Shaped Table Lamps COSIN DESIGN's Whale Lamp Uses Translucent Form for Ambient Lighting By Amy Duong | Published 2026-03-26 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cosin-design References: [en.puxiang](https://en.puxiang.com/u4123635/gallery) The whale lamp by [COSIN DESIGN](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mondrian-routers) is a table light designed as a simplified whale form, shaped to sit as a [sculptural object](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gld-lamp) when not in use. The design captures the animal mid-leap through a continuous curved surface, with no sharp edges or segmented parts. The body is constructed with a semi-translucent material that allows light to pass through the lower section, turning the form into a functional light source rather than a solid figure. The lamp emits a diffused glow through its underside, distributing light evenly rather than projecting a focused beam. Its compact scale allows it to function as a bedside or [ambient lamp](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/air-table-light), while the smooth exterior maintains a consistent surface across the entire form. The piece is available in multiple colour variations, with each version altering the tone of the emitted light through the material.
