# Badass Bullfight Paintings 'Corrida in Ronda' by Eric Fischl Shows a Dance of Death By Marissa Liu | Published 2010-01-22 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/corrida-in-ronda-by-eric-fischl References: [ericfischl](http://www.ericfischl.com/paintings/corrida/html1/corrida.html) The series ‘Corrida in Ronda’ by Eric Fischl depicts a cultural pastime that interests me greatly. These are paintings that I think Ernest Hemingway, a great fan of bullfighting, would have really enjoyed. Like Hemingway, Fischl is an American artist and is based in New York City. ‘Corrida in Ronda’ by Eric Fischl captures the majesty (some might say the cruelty) of a [famous Spanish sport](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/danza-collection). The paintings show the respect between man and animal as they circle one another in a dance to the death. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.7/10 - Popularity: 28% | Activity: 45% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 90% men, 10% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Modern](https://www.trendhunter.com/modern) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Spanish Bullfighting Art:** Opportunity for artists to explore the cultural significance and controversy of bullfighting through their art. - **Animal Rights in Art:** Artists have the opportunity to raise awareness for animal rights issues and spark important conversations through their artwork. - **Cultural Commentary Art:** Artists can use their work to provide social commentary on controversial cultural traditions and practices. ### Who This Affects Most - **Artificial Intelligence in Art:** AI has the potential to revolutionize the creation and interpretation of art, allowing for new perspectives and innovative techniques. - **Animal Rights Activism:** The fight for animal rights is an industry that continues to grow, providing opportunities for organizations, influencers, and brands to make a difference. - **Cultural Tourism:** The demand for immersive cultural experiences is on the rise, presenting opportunities for the tourism industry to offer unique events and activities. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Oil Painting-Inspired Rugs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/antonio-santn.md) - [Almost-Extinct Animal Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fauna-series.md) - [Americana Subculture-Themed Art Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bullet-proof.md) - [Primal-Themed Bronze Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-return.md) - [Striking Urban Wildlife Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/clare-allin.md) - [Medicine-Inspired Artful Shows](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/something-for-the-pain.md) - [Mexican Artist Tequila Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gonzalo-lebrija.md) - [Artist-Designed Tequila Bottles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/essential-artist-series.md) - [Artistic Animalistic Tequilas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dobel-atelier-animales-endmicos.md)
