The site was once a commercial building that has been transformed into a [bright public preschool](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/multichildcare-crche). This is a part of the city's larger initiative to bring [modern school spaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sustainable-educational-architecture) to areas that need them the most. The Corona 3K Center is nestled in a fast-growing area needing more attention in Corona. This is a neighborhood in Queens and it has a growing population of new families with young children, meaning that school options are becoming more limited. Jordan Parnass, principal at Circular notes, “This building was actively under construction. A big part of our responsibility was to quickly identify how we could change what the landlord had planned to do and turn it into a school.” Image Credit: Circular ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.4/10 - Popularity: 10% | Activity: 6% | Freshness: 26% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Commercial-to-educational Conversions:** The adaptive reuse of commercial spaces for educational purposes is gaining traction, addressing the need for new schools in rapidly growing communities. - **Bright and Modern Learning Environments:** Contemporary school designs that emphasize bright, welcoming spaces are emerging as a key trend for improving student engagement and well-being. - **Localized Urban Education Initiatives:** Strategically locating educational institutions within fast-growing urban neighborhoods is becoming a focused strategy for accommodating rising young populations. ### Where This Applies - **Education:** The education sector is seeing a shift towards innovative space utilization and modern design in response to the demand for engaging learning environments. - **Real Estate Development:** Real estate developers are increasingly involved in the transformation of commercial properties into functional public infrastructures like schools. - **Urban Planning:** Urban planners are prioritizing the integration of educational facilities within residential zones to support community growth and accessibility. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Circular Learning Hubs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/philo.md) - [Yellow-Accented School Interiors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/school-interior.md) - [Town-Like Classroom Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kindergarten-of-museum.md) - [Sustainable Colorful School designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wonderland-elementary-school.md) - [Kindergarten Renovation Projects](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gyngyszem.md) - [Vibrantly Designed Nursery Centers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/multichildcare-crche.md) - [Nature-Promoting School Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/primary-school-1.md) - [Pre-Primary School Extensions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cocoon-extension.md) - [Dome-Style School Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/al-fanar.md)
