Case-in-point: 'Cornfield' from Ryuji Nakamura. 'Cornfield' is a [massive wall](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/humanise-wall) made up of paper and glue currently on display at the [National Museum of Modern Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/this-is-air) in Tokyo. 'Cornfield' from Ryuji Nakamura features thousands of tiny [paper tubes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shining-a-light) glued together to form a massive room divider with a hexagonal see-through shape. While I don't know the meaning behind 'Cornfield,' I can still appreciate the creativity and artistic talent behind it. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.6/10 - Popularity: 39% | Activity: 92% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Modern](https://www.trendhunter.com/modern) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Massive Paper Art:** Disruptive Innovation Opportunity: Exploring the use of paper as a medium for creating large-scale art installations. - **Hexagonal Room Dividers:** Disruptive Innovation Opportunity: Designing unique and visually stunning room dividers using hexagonal shapes and unconventional materials. - **Creative Art Installations:** Disruptive Innovation Opportunity: Pushing the boundaries of traditional art by creating immersive and interactive installations that leave a lasting impression. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Art and Design:** Disruptive Innovation Opportunity: Embracing innovative materials and techniques to create novel works of art that challenge traditional artistic norms. - **Museum and Exhibition:** Disruptive Innovation Opportunity: Rethinking the way art is displayed and experienced in museum settings by incorporating unconventional and visually captivating installations. - **Interior Design:** Disruptive Innovation Opportunity: Integrating unique room dividers into interior spaces to create visually striking and functional partitions that enhance the overall aesthetic. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Sculptural Paper Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fragmenti.md) - [Paper-Inspired Artful Museums](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/museum-for-papirkunst.md) - [Maze-Like Salt Artworks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/a-path-of-memories.md) - [Seasonal Interactive Fashion Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/washi-paper.md) - [Paper-Like Art Museum Roofs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/museum-for-paper-art.md) - [Paper Curvature Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/paper-curves.md) - [Origami-Inspired Porcelain Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/saori-matsushita.md) - [Japanese Craftsmanship-Inspired Sculpture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nakajimaya-crossing.md) - [Kumiko Craft Structures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/timevase.md)
