The ‘Cooka’ is a unique and [portable tabletop electrical cooking device](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/countertop-cooking-appliance) that allows its users to cook wherever there is a table.

Designed by Maurizio Maiorana, the ‘Cooka’ is a [fold-up stove top mat](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shuhu-stove) that is made generously with silver.

This cooking mat uses thermal conductivity properties and metal to heat up the utensils on top.

**Implications** - As more working-class citizens move into cramped downtown apartments and condos, the need for [space-saving cooking solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/revo-stovigo) increases. Multifunctional, minimalist solutions that turn any flat surface into a cooktop help consumers save money by cooking at home -- even if their tiny studio doesn't have a formal kitchen. Even homeowners who do have a kitchen can use the extra prep space.
