# Flat Folding Furniture These Convenient Folding Chairs Are an Artistic Furniture Solution By Kyle Towers | Published 2013-01-16 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/convenient-folding-chairs References: [dezeen](http://www.dezeen.com/2013/01/15/l22-folding-chairs-by-pilotwave/) & [vimeo](http://vimeo.com/56577692) Make sure to be prepared for your next major assembly with these convenient folding chairs. And if you don't have a mass group of people to cater to, they work great for small assemblies featuring relatives and teddy bears too. The chairs are made of aluminum and birch plywood and are easy to take apart and reassemble. They are an excellent solution to [mass seating logistics](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/omega-chair) as they [easily pack away and store](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nstel-the-chair) brilliantly. In fact, as described by the creators they become an "art installation" when not in use. I would have to agree with the designers as these convenient folding chairs are definitely a lot more aesthetically pleasing than traditional pack away seating. Just thinking about those old metal chairs used for school gym assemblies makes my skin crawl. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.2/10 - Popularity: 88% | Activity: 59% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Architecture](https://www.trendhunter.com/architecture) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Flat-folding Furniture:** Aluminum and birch plywood furniture that easily disassembles for convenient storage and can double as artwork when not in use, disrupting traditional bulky assembly seating. - **Aesthetic Assembly Seating:** Elevating assembly and event seating with furniture that seamlessly transitions into functional art. - **Portable Event Logistics:** Innovative furniture that simplifies event set up and storage for more efficient portability. ### Who This Affects Most - **Event Planning and Rental Services:** Businesses involved in event planning and rental services should consider offering flat-folding furniture as a more attractive and practical seating solution for clients. - **Interior Design:** Interior designers can incorporate the flat-folding aesthetic furniture trend into their projects and create unique, versatile and dual-purpose designs that cater to the modern lifestyles of their clients. - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Furniture manufacturers have an opportunity to incorporate the flat-folding furniture design trend into their product lines and provide customers with flexible, functional, and aesthetically pleasing furniture options. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Ultra-Minimalist Folding Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/notch-folding-chair.md) - [Monomaterial Aluminum Folded Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/foldseat.md) - [High-Quality Flatpack Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pagoda-chair.md) - [Industrial Flatpack Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tekron-folding-chair.md) - [Sliding Flatpack Seating Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/folio-chair.md) - [Practical Folding Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/patan-chair.md) - [Flatpack Single-Piece Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/leaning-chair-set.md) - [Collapsible Outdoor Furniture Pieces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/origami-outdoor-furniture.md) - [Recycled Scissor-Like Folding Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fauld-chair.md)
