# Gamer Coffee Tables This SNES Coffee Table is Shaped Like an Original Controller By Michael Baxter | Published 2014-05-25 | Tech Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/controller-coffee-table References: [technabob](http://technabob.com/blog/2014/05/21/snes-controller-coffee-table/) & [etsy](https://www.etsy.com/listing/168538171/super-nintendo-controller-coffee-table) For some reason when people make video game coffee tables they always forget the [Super Nintendo](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/booster-course-pass), but this controller coffee table got the classic machine's handle just right. It's no rarity to see the classic [NES](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/open-source-games-console) transformed into furniture, or anything for that matter, people love that system. The [SNES](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nike-air-snes) gets a little bit less love though, even though it arguably had more classic games and a bigger impact on the video game world as far as good games are concerned. Charles Lushear didn't get wrapped up in the hype of the classic Nintendo, instead opting to model his coffee table after the more rounded appearance of the Super Nintendo's point of contact. The perfect gets everything in perfect scale, balance and even color. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.9/10 - Popularity: 50% | Activity: 59% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 90% men, 10% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Gen Alpha, Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Games](https://www.trendhunter.com/games) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Gaming-inspired Furniture:** Gaming-inspired furniture is becoming popular with retro-gaming enthusiasts and is an opportunity for disruptive innovation in the home decor industry. - **Retro Video Game Merchandise:** The nostalgia factor of retro video games is driving demand for merchandise like coffee tables and presents an opportunity for innovation in the gaming merchandise industry. - **Interactive Home Decor:** Interactive home decor, like coffee tables modeled after video game controllers, presents an opportunity for innovation in the home decor industry by combining functionality with unique design elements. ### Who This Affects Most - **Home Decor:** The home decor industry can capitalize on the popularity of gaming-inspired furniture by creating more unique and interactive pieces that combine nostalgia and functionality. - **Gaming Merchandise:** The gaming merchandise industry can tap into the nostalgia factor of retro video games and offer more creative and unique products like coffee tables modeled after game controllers. - **Furniture:** The furniture industry can innovate by creating more interactive furniture pieces like gaming-inspired coffee tables that combine functionality and unique design elements. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Gaming Console Coffee Makers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nintendo-fp-coffee-machine.md) - [Board Game Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/scrabble-coffee-table.md) - [Video Game-Inspired Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pac-man-side-table.md) - [Automatic Smart Coffee tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smart-coffee-table-black.md) - [Video Game Console Sneakers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nike-air-snes.md) - [Nostalgic Mobile Gaming Controllers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nintendo-switch-gamecube-controller.md) - [Cartoon Glove Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/voila-coffee-table.md) - [See-Through Cartridge Gaming Consoles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modretro-m64.md) - [Nostalgic 90s-Inspired Gaming Consoles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/analogue-3d-funtastic.md)
