# Levitating Porcelain Women Curious Ceramic Art by Jacqui Chanarin By TrendHead | Published 2008-11-22 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/contradicting-ceramic-art-by-jacqui-chanarin References: [eyestorm](http://www.eyestorm.com/artists/profile/Jacqui_Chanarin.html) & [jacquichanarin](http://www.jacquichanarin.com/) Artist Jacqui Chanarin's curious ceramic subjects include a levitating woman, a hunter, a ghost, a block of ice and some seal hunters, a skull, and a house on fire. The clever thoughts behind these unusual forms inspire deep comments to life's contradictions. I think her work is wonderful and beautiful in its simplicity. Chanarin explains that her work is "concerned mainly with mankind's complex urban environment and the animals that have adapted to it." I would love to have the ghost in my window and the levitating woman on my wall next to my dressing table. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.2/10 - Popularity: 35% | Activity: 24% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Curious Ceramic Art:** Opportunity for artists to explore unique and imaginative ceramic creations with unusual forms. - **Deep Commentaries:** Potential for artworks to inspire profound thoughts and contemplations about life's contradictions. - **Complex Urban Environment:** Exploration of mankind's interaction with urban environments and the adaptation of animals within it. ### Who This Affects Most - **Art:** Innovative ceramic art can disrupt the traditional art market with its unconventional and thought-provoking forms. - **Interior Design:** Opportunity to integrate unique and conversation-starting ceramic pieces into interior design, adding a touch of artistic charm to spaces. - **Home Décor:** Consumer demand for unconventional and visually striking ceramics can create disruptive opportunities in the home décor industry. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Origami-Inspired Porcelain Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/saori-matsushita.md) - [Textural Porcelain Vessels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tamara-efrat.md) - [Human Hair-Made Pots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/range-of-pots.md) - [Whimsical Spirit Art Shows](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/anima.md) - [Sculpted Rhythm Forms](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-kinetic-collection.md) - [Biology-Inspired Porcelain Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shiyuan-xu.md) - [Striking Sculptural Candles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sculpture-candle.md) - [AI-Driven Ceramic Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/texttoclay.md) - [Hand-Painted Ceramic Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/handpainted-ceramic-collections.md)
