The basic design of the scrawler involves two parts: the first is a graphite-tipped pencil with a [hexagonal flue](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pencil-sharpener-1) at the opposite end, and the second part is a [grip-extender](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/refillable-writing-pen) that can be inserted into the shaft of the pencil when it becomes to short to hold. Never again will you have to cut your narrative short, as the 'Continuous Pencil' nib will allow you to write within an inch of its length. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.2/10 - Popularity: 22% | Activity: 35% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Unique](https://www.trendhunter.com/unique) > [Inventions](https://www.trendhunter.com/inventions) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Continuous Pencil:** The innovation of the 'Continuous Pencil' presents an opportunity for disruptive growth in the stationary industry. - **Grip-extender:** The introduction of the grip-extender opens up possibilities for disruptive innovation in the accessories industry. - **Hexagonal Flue:** The hexagonal flue design of the 'Continuous Pencil' offers an opportunity for disruptive advancements in graphite-tipped writing instruments. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Stationary:** The 'Continuous Pencil' has the potential to create disruptive shifts in the stationary industry. - **Accessories:** The grip-extender accessory may bring about disruptive changes in the accessories industry. - **Writing Instruments:** The hexagonal flue design of the 'Continuous Pencil' opens up possibilities for disruptive innovations in the writing instruments industry. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Stone-Grip Conical Pencils](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aluminum-sphere.md) - [Everlasting Metal Pencils](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/metal-pencil.md) - [Elegant Everlasting Pencils](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stilform-aeon.md) - [Recycled Plastic Writing Utensils](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mechanical-drop-pencil.md) - [Unique Writing Instruments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/graphite-paintbrush-writing-instrument.md) - [Sculptural Writing Tools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/experimental-pencils.md) - [Self-Sharpening Coloring Pencils](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/infinity-colouring-pencils.md) - [Dual-Functioning Mechanical Pencils](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-penpass.md) - [Clothespin-Inspired Mechanical Pencils](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pentapa.md)
