Although a very basic desk, its [rounded edge](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flow-set) gives it a unique look that almost trumps the need for more practical features such as drawers. Designed by [Ontario College of Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/renzo-piano) student Francesco Angiulli, the Continue Desk was recently exhibited during the Interior Design Show 2011 in Toronto. It displays immense craftsmanship for a budding designer, as well as a creative design concept. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.2/10 - Popularity: 29% | Activity: 29% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Minimalist Furniture:** Opportunity for designers to create furniture with simple and clean designs that appeal to modern consumers. - **Unique Aesthetic:** Incorporating unconventional elements such as rounded edges can provide a distinctive and eye-catching look for furniture products. - **Craftsmanship Showcase:** Exhibitions and events like the Interior Design Show provide a platform for emerging designers to display their talent and innovation in furniture making. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Furniture Design:** Furniture designers can explore new design concepts and materials to create unique pieces that stand out in the market. - **Interior Design:** Interior designers can incorporate minimalist furniture with unique aesthetics into their projects to create visually appealing and modern spaces. - **Design Education:** Design schools and institutions can promote craftsmanship and provide platforms for students to showcase their innovative designs in exhibitions and shows. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Minimalist Modular Desk Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/console-desk.md) - [Minimalist Storage-Friendly Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-bold-desk.md) - [Ultra-Minimalist Elegant Desk Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/elegant-desk-design.md) - [Minimalist Monochromatic Desk Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arqus-desk.md) - [Futuristic Sculptural Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arnardo-desk.md) - [Single-Piece Construction Workstations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nook-desk.md) - [Minimalist Demure Designer Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/backup-desk.md) - [Pocket Storage-Equipped Workstations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pocket-desk.md) - [Minimalist Storage-Paired Workstations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/diag-desk.md)
