# Contemporary Stackable Chairs Drapee by Constance Guisset is Made out of Lightweight Steel By Meghan Young | Published 2014-11-25 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/contemporary-stackable-chair References: [design-milk](http://design-milk.com/drapee-stackable-chair-constance-guisset/) & [constanceguisset](http://www.constanceguisset.com/index.php?/objet/drapee-chair/) Although Drapee, a contemporary stackable chair, is made out of metal, the pattern the seat and backrest takes on is reminiscent of [draped fabric](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hidahida-chair), hence its endearing name. The [steel rods](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wire-chair-concept) flow from the top to a bottom corner in a graceful way that can also be likened to the rays of a setting sun. Designed by Constance Guisset for Petite Friture, the contemporary stackable chair is a great alternative to similar designs. Available in light neutral colors, they can easily be used in any space. Not to mention that they can be left out in the open even when not in use since the designs are incredibly stylish. Yet their stacking nature works well for small spaces. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.3/10 - Popularity: 30% | Activity: 2% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Contemporary Stackable Furniture:** Designing stylish and stackable furniture pieces for smaller spaces. - **Metal Furniture Design:** Exploring innovative ways to design metal furniture pieces with unique designs. - **Lightweight Steel Material:** Experimenting with the use of lightweight steel materials in designing furniture pieces. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Furniture:** The furniture industry can explore stackable designs that can cater to small spaces while being stylish. - **Interior Design:** Interior designers can suggest the use of stackable contemporary furniture designs in home and office spaces. - **Metals and Mining:** Metals and mining industry can invent new ways of creating lightweight steel materials for furniture designers. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Design-Forward Stackable Stools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stackable-stool.md) - [Perforated Steel Seating](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stamping-chair.md) - [Singular Metal Sheet-Made Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fold-chair.md) - [Stylish Stackable Office Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nesting-chair.md) - [Stackable Blue-Tonal Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modernica.md) - [Recycled Stacking Seating Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sting-chair.md) - [Fan-Shaped Stackable Stool Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stool-concept.md) - [Solid Wooden Stackable Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/naku.md) - [Sleek Steel Structural Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/combchair.md)
