# Contemporary Rustic Apartments Rua 141 and Rafael Zalc Infuse This Space with a Hue of Blue By Kalin Ned | Published 2019-03-18 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/contemporary-rustic-apartment References: [design-milk](https://design-milk.com/a-sao-paulo-apartment-that-combines-rustic-elements-and-shades-of-blue/) & [rua141](https://rua141.com/en/projeto/apartament-an-2/) This contemporary rustic apartment is located in São Paulo, Brazil. The space is characterized by a strong cozy character that simultaneously answers to modern sensibilities. The layout and interior are arranged by Rua 141 and Rafael Zalc. A unifying force within the aesthetic of the AK Apartment is the recurring hits of bright blue and the wooden elements throughout. The repetition is accessible and makes for an effortlessly elegant living abode. Rua 141 and Rafael Zalc decided on an [open-concept layout](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/milo-apartment) for the contemporary rustic apartment which has become rather standard. While there are no concrete barriers between the [kitchen and the living room](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/general-assembly), the presence of a terrace gives it "the feeling of a much larger space."
