The Natalia Project is a [personal GPS wristband](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/positioning-wearables) that alerts people when an aid worker finds themselves in a life-threatening situation. The device can be activated by pressing a button or when it's forcibly removed from the wearer. The GPS wristband alerts local organizations that the wearer is affiliated with, the Civil Rights headquarters in Stockholm and everyone who signed up with their application through social media platforms like [Twitter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/createmybanner-1) and [Facebook](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bestever). With the invaluable work that human rights workers do on a regular basis, it's only appropriate that their lives are also given priority. This clever wristband will definitely provide aid workers around the world with the security they so desperately need. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.2/10 - Popularity: 14% | Activity: 45% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Africa ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/gadgets) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Personal Safety Bracelets:** There is an opportunity to develop hi-tech safety devices for individuals facing dangerous situations. - **GPS Tracking Technology:** Innovative GPS tracking solutions can be designed for people working in risky environments. - **Real-time Emergency Alerts:** Developing systems to keep people alert about emergency situations can help save lives in dangerous work environments. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Humanitarian Aid:** Organizations providing basic necessities to people in war-torn countries can benefit from safety devices like the Natalia Project. - **Journalism:** Journalists working in conflict zones can benefit from such safety devices that provide real-time emergency alerts. - **Building and Construction:** Workers in dangerous construction sites where fast emergency evacuation is necessary can benefit from wearable safety devices linked to GPS tracking technology. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Location-Tracking Safety Wearables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/orbit-protect-gps-tracker.md) - [Employee-Focused Personal Safety Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/personal-safety-devices.md) - [Health-Tracking Swimmer Bracelets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/soswim-safety-bracelet.md) - [Luxurious Safety Bracelets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/luxurious-safety-bracelet.md) - [Senior-Targeted Wearable Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lifeline-canada.md) - [Wearable Monitoring Technology](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tband.md) - [Haptic Navigation Wristbands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/haptic-navigation-wristband.md) - [Emergency Alert Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/protechme.md) - [Women’s Safety Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/im-safe.md)
