# Minimalist Modular Desk Designs The Conceptual 'Console Desk' by Calvin Lien is Well-Designed By Michael Hemsworth | Published 2022-04-25 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/console-desk References: [yankodesign](https://www.yankodesign.com/2022/04/25/this-ultra-minimal-desk-hides-its-modular-nature-in-plain-sight/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=this-ultra-minimal-desk-hides-its-modular-nature-in-plain-sight) & [calvinlien](http://www.calvinlien.com/) The conceptual 'Console Desk' is a piece of furniture for professionals and students alike that hides essential functions in plain sight, while also maintaining a decidedly sleek construction. The desk features a minimalist design that appears quite simple, but actually hides a hollow section inside the spine that runs along the underside of the tabletop. This hidden compartment provides ample space for essential cords and cables to be concealed to keep the furniture piece looking sleek, while one end provides access to USB ports for charging. The conceptual 'Console Desk' is imagined with support for accessories like a bright-red shelf that hangs off the end. This enables the person to switch up how the desk works on a continual basis and support schedule changes. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.5/10 - Popularity: 94% | Activity: 28% | Freshness: 12% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/furniture) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Minimalist Furniture:** Opportunity for creating furniture with essential functions concealed in a sleek, minimalist design. - **Modular Design:** Opportunity for creating furniture that supports accessories and can be easily customized to support schedule changes and evolving needs. - **Cable and Cord Management:** Opportunity for creating furniture that provides ample space for essential cords and cables to be concealed to keep the furniture piece looking sleek. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Furniture Design:** Design companies can create minimalist furniture with essential functions concealed in a sleek, modular design. - **Tech Accessories:** Tech companies can design innovative cord and cable management products for furniture designers and customers. - **Interior Design:** Interior design companies can offer customized design solutions that incorporate modular furniture pieces with concealed cables and modular designs. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Minimalist Modular Creative Workstations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/note-desk.md) - [Elegant Working Desk Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mindset-builtin-computer-desk.md) - [Minimalist Demure Designer Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/backup-desk.md) - [Minimalist Storage-Friendly Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-bold-desk.md) - [Single-Piece Construction Workstations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nook-desk.md) - [Minimalist Clutter-Free Desk Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/parallel-work-table.md) - [Minimalist Professional Desk Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/artifox-x-twelve-south-desk.md) - [Sleek Storage-Packed Workstations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/threesix-desk.md) - [Ergonomic Multi-Use Desk Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kabinett-desk.md)
