From French firm Connected Cycle, the tech-embedded bicycle pedals provide cyclists with analytics about their riding. Through the accompanying [mobile app](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smart-handlebar), the Connected Smart Pedals system notifies you when your bike has been moved. Its [GPS tracking](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bryton-gardia-r300l) and cloud capabilities ensure it knows the location of your bicycle, especially if it is somewhere it shouldn't be. This feature also allows cyclists to track their biking activity such as their route, distance traveled and calories burned. Rather than relying on a third party app or wearable device to learn this kind of information, you can integrate the technology right into your bike. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.5/10 - Popularity: 6% | Activity: 1% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Connected Fitness Tracking:** The integration of fitness tracking technology into everyday objects such as bicycle pedals presents opportunities for connected fitness experiences and personalized analytics. - **Anti-theft Technology:** The use of GPS tracking and mobile app notifications in smart pedals not only provides convenience for bike owners but also disrupts the bike theft prevention industry by offering a proactive solution. - **Embedded Iot Solutions:** The incorporation of IoT capabilities directly into everyday objects like bicycle pedals showcases the emerging trend of embedded IoT solutions, offering new possibilities for connectivity and data collection. ### Where This Applies - **Fitness and Wearable Technology:** The integration of fitness tracking technology into bicycle pedals demonstrates novel opportunities for the fitness and wearable technology industry to expand into unconventional hardware. - **Bike Theft Prevention:** The emergence of smart pedals with GPS tracking and app notifications disrupts the bike theft prevention industry by introducing innovative and proactive anti-theft solutions. - **Internet of Things (iot):** The implementation of IoT capabilities in everyday objects like bicycle pedals highlights the potential for the IoT industry to penetrate diverse sectors, enabling connected experiences and data-driven insights. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Intelligent Cycling Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/intelligent-cycling-system.md) - [Color-Changing Clipless Pedals](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/clipless-pedals.md) - [Connected Cyclist Information Displays](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/core-bike-components-corecap.md) - [AI-Enhanced Smart Bikes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aienhanced-smart-bikes.md) - [Integrated Customizable Bike Computers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/core-components.md) - [Real-Time Monitoring Bike Locks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/elios-crossover-lock.md) - [Mountain Bike Brake Monitors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/brake-monitor.md) - [Smart Connected E-Bikes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/delfast-top-3.md) - [App-Enabled Bike Handlebars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smart-handlebar.md)
