# Hefty Cement Furnishings The Concrete Table by Pawel Krawczugo Imitates a Different Material By Amelia Roblin | Published 2012-01-11 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/concrete-table-by-pawel-krawczugo References: [behance.net](http://www.behance.net/gallery/CONCRETE-TABLE/1869697) The Concrete Table by Pawel Krawczugo is incapable of concealing heavy footsteps, but it does well to sneakily assume a somewhat false identity. The chic piece of furniture might appear, from a distance, to embody the compositional qualities and slatted texture of a typical [wooden coffee table](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tidone), but alas, the object is assembled from unconventional components. Rigid adonized aluminum is used in the sturdy structure of the furnishing, performing as the [solid legs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/alu-collection) and the pair of frames which contain two stacked surfaces for storage and intermittent use. But it is the [reinforced concrete slabs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/k-he-concrete-edition) which are the truly peculiar characteristics of the piece, textured with a striped and grained pattern to adopt the look of timber planks. The weight and the iconic appearance of the Concrete Table by Pawel Krawczugo give it a confidence within any room. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.2/10 - Popularity: 70% | Activity: 49% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Concrete Furniture:** Creating concrete furniture that mimics other materials like wood. - **Reinforced Concrete Design:** Incorporating reinforced concrete in unique and unconventional designs for furniture and other objects. - **Industrial Chic Decor:** Utilizing modern and industrial materials to create chic and sophisticated decor pieces. ### Where This Applies - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Opportunities to create unique and innovative furniture designs by incorporating unconventional materials like reinforced concrete. - **Architecture and Interior Design:** Incorporating concrete furniture into modern and industrial design themes, creating new and sophisticated design concepts. - **Home Decor Retail:** Offering unique and unconventional furniture designs to appeal to modern consumers looking for sophisticated and industrial home decor. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Concrete Sculptural Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ancora.md) - [Pointed Foundation Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/donatas-ukauskas.md) - [Chic Stone Fragment Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/skrivo-for-miniforms-pinto.md) - [Skeletal Industrial Dining Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/landr-dining-and-conference-table.md) - [Brutalist Concrete Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/brute-furniture-concept.md) - [Fabric-Like Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tablecloth-side-table.md) - [Raw Stone-Inspired Jagged Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fels-coffee-table.md) - [Dynamic Strong Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sharp-table.md) - [Styrofoam Furniture Capsules](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/trashy.md)
