# Stunningly Lush Concrete Pergolas Di Gregorio Associati Architetti's Modern Residence is in Italy By Kalin Ned | Published 2019-08-08 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/concrete-pergolas References: [dezeen](https://www.dezeen.com/2019/07/26/monticello-concrete-house-di-gregorio-associati-architetti-emilia-italy/) & [digregorioassociati.it](https://www.digregorioassociati.it/) These concrete pergolas definitely add a slick embellishment to a contemporary residence in northern Italy, which was restored by Di Gregorio Associati Architetti. The architecture firm worked toward preserving a dominant chunk of the original structure and instead, put extra emphasis on facilitating an agreeable environment through the incorporation of "a double ring of concrete trellises." The function here is two-fold. Not only does the lush, plant-adorned concrete pergolas shade the house and protect it from the sun, but they also offer an attention-captivating and aesthetically pleasing embellishment to the outside. The house that Di Gregorio Associati Architetti renovated is located in a rural area in Italy. As a result, the vegetative concrete pergolas contribute to the seamless integration of the contemporary dwelling into a landscape with exquisite panoramic views.
