# Sliced Concrete Lamps Qoowl's Industrial-Style Crescent Lamp Can Create Various Lighting Looks By Cadhla Gray | Published 2015-11-05 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/concrete-lamps References: [design-milk](http://design-milk.com/qoowl-launches-crescent-lamp-troy-reugebrink/?utm_source=feedly&utm_medium=webfeeds) & [qoowl](http://www.qoowl.com/) These [industrial concrete lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nau-design) are a creative design idea, appearing to be a [solid cylinder from one side](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/polyshape-lamp) but a crescent from the other, dramatically sliced right down the middle. Designed by Troy Reugebrink for Qoowl, this playful lamp adds an [edgy look to a room](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/horizon-table-light) while also appearing to be an antique object, made from an ancient Greek pillar. These styles give the lamp a comfortable home in any room, able to fit in with various design schemes. The lighting the concrete lamps give off is also unique, as faced away light glows out the edges or can reflect off a nearby wall. If more direct light is desired, then the open half can be turned toward the room, boldly revealing the light bulb. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.7/10 - Popularity: 38% | Activity: 64% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Industrial-style Lighting:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Explore new materials and designs for industrial-style lighting that combines aesthetics and functionality. - **Multi-functional Lamps:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop lamps that offer multiple lighting looks or can be easily adjusted to suit different room styles and moods. - **Creative Use of Concrete:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Experiment with concrete as a versatile material for lighting fixtures that add a unique touch to interior design. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Interior Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Incorporate industrial-style lighting with creative concrete designs into interior design projects for a modern and edgy aesthetic. - **Lighting Manufacturing:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Invest in developing manufacturing techniques and processes to produce industrial-style concrete lamps efficiently and at scale. - **Home Decor Retail:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Curate a collection of unique and versatile lamps with creative concrete designs to cater to the growing demand for industrial-style and multi-functional lighting. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Hollow Candle-Like Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lampe.md) - [Mushroom-Inspired Sleek Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lunar-lamp-concept.md) - [Brutalist Bedside Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vestige-lamp.md) - [Archetypal Conical Light Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fragile-lamp.md) - [3D-Printed Reversed Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/revolve-lamp.md) - [Reversible Glass Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jal.md) - [Sculptural Wooden Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arc-lamp.md) - [Geometric Industrial Desktop Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nebula-lamp.md) - [Modern Marble Waste Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sole-lamp.md)
