The [slit home design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/slim-fit) is a concrete home with 60 ‘slits’ in the concrete, which become small, building height windows. The result is a surprisingly sunny interior to the home and a protected outside. While grey concrete may not be much to look at usually, Eastern Design Office seems to know how to make it look good. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.9/10 - Popularity: 61% | Activity: 49% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Slit Home Revolution:** The slit home design takes advantage of small building height windows for sunny interior and protected outside. - **Sleek Concrete Living:** Eastern Design Office proves the potential of comfortable and aesthetic concrete living. - **Maximizing Concrete:** The slit home and other creative designs demonstrate untapped potential for using concrete as a building material. ### Where This Applies - **Architecture:** New innovations in design and materials challenge architects to create stunning and functional living spaces. - **Real Estate:** The slit home design and others offer a unique and eco-friendly living experience that could attract buyers who prioritize sustainability and aesthetics. - **Construction:** Innovations in building materials and design open up new possibilities for sustainable and efficient construction methods. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Raw Concrete Industrial Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-in-nishizaki.md) - [Exposed Concrete Stealthy Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/villa-eternal-way.md) - [Pyramidal Concrete Japanese Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pyramid-hut.md) - [Hillside Concrete Retreats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/concrete-house-1.md) - [Minimal Japanese Home Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-in-kyobate.md) - [Minimalist Concrete Complexes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/residential-project-in-tokyo.md) - [Trapezoidal Concrete Forest Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ksa-studen.md) - [City-Framing Concrete Residences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/khome.md) - [Concrete Boxes-Overlapping Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-in-tsurumiku.md)
