Concrete walls can have a remarkable visual quality. Though stark and used traditionally in parking garages and warehouses, concrete is a sturdy material that has become contemporary. The finish on concrete walls can add a [distressed and vintage feel](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jean-verville), whereas splattered concrete walls can give an area a youthful and arty vibe. Additionally, concrete ceilings can make a room feel larger and concrete sections can act as a back splash in a living room, kitchen or any utilized space. Concrete decor is relevant in the world of art and design because it is multifunctional. Concrete can cover walls, act as a ceiling treatment or art piece and be a focal point in any modern refuge. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.3/10 - Popularity: 58% | Activity: 63% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Concrete Decor:** The trend of using concrete as a decorative element in interior design offers opportunities for innovative concrete finishes and applications. - **Distressed Concrete Walls:** The trend of using distressed concrete finishes gives a vintage and industrial aesthetic, creating opportunities for creative distressing techniques. - **Concrete Ceilings:** The trend of incorporating concrete ceilings in interior design presents opportunities for exploring different textures and finishes for a visually impactful space. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Interior Design:** The interior design industry can leverage the concrete decor trend by offering innovative concrete finishes, treatments, and design concepts to clients. - **Art:** The art industry can explore concrete as a medium for creating unique and impactful pieces that blend art and functionality. - **Construction:** The construction industry can innovate by embracing the use of concrete as both a structural and decorative element, pushing the boundaries of traditional construction practices. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Sturdy Home Decor](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modern-cement-decor.md) - [Concrete Sculptural Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ancora.md) - [Bio-Concrete Retail Screens](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bioconcrete.md) - [Concrete Modern Extensions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/t-house-extension.md) - [Exposed Concrete Factory Structures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mallcom-factory.md) - [Contrasting Element Concrete Stools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/conecto-modular-stool.md) - [Red Concrete-Defined Home Renovations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/atelier-delalande-tabourin.md) - [Hillside Concrete Retreats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/concrete-house-1.md) - [Raw Concrete Industrial Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-in-nishizaki.md)
