The [mountainside cabin](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ski-house) is unlike traditional country homes and replaces raw wood materials with [concrete cladding and interior finishes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lamat-house). Designed by Georg Nickish and Selina Walder, this renovated cottage retains its original structure but reveals new spaces underneath it. Despite of its industrial materials, this home is surprisingly cozy, featuring dynamic views of its surrounding, snowy landscape. While the home's bathrooms boast a contemporary aesthetic that is equipped with raw and layered concrete finishes, its living area and bedrooms are made cozy with organic cotton linens, wool carpeting and fur upholstery. Whether on ground level or below it, this home's residents can enjoy a cozy home that stays warm during winter and cooler during warmer months. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.3/10 - Popularity: 79% | Activity: 43% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Concrete-cottage Homes:** Building homes with concrete materials provide a fresh take on country-style homes. - **Industrial Cozy Designs:** Combining industrial and cozy design elements can provide unique and unexpected home interiors. - **Eco-friendly Housing Design:** Building homes with materials that provide natural insulation can reduce energy costs and provide comfort throughout the seasons. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Architecture:** The use of non-traditional building materials in creating homes can be an innovative approach for architects and builders. - **Interior Design:** Creating a balance between industrial and cozy interior design elements offers a unique approach for interior designers. - **Construction:** Constructing homes with eco-friendly materials can provide energy efficiency and sustainable housing for the future. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Sustainable Swiss Chalets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ls-design.md) - [Communal Concrete Home Projects](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-c.md) - [Intimate High-Altitude Cottages](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/altihut.md) - [Log Cabin-Inspired Modern Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/balbek-bureau.md) - [Hillside Concrete Retreats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/concrete-house-1.md) - [Residential Mountain Retreats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/avber-house.md) - [Contemporary Ski Home Projects](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/traditional-ski-chalet.md) - [Compact Cottage Revivals](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rustic-renovation.md) - [Reinforced Concrete Housing Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/residenza-carsg.md)
