# Concrete Block Lighting The O-Votto Table Lamp by Joshua Howe Design is Industrially Modern By Meghan Young | Published 2014-10-07 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/concrete-block-light References: [design-milk](http://design-milk.com/o-votto-lamp-joshua-howe/) & [joshuahowedesign](http://www.joshuahowedesign.com/O-Votto-Table-Lamp.html) People who appreciate industrial aesthetics will love the concrete block light. Dubbed O-Votto, it is a table lamp that boasts a cement cube as its base. Quite the anchor, it is one light fixture that is not meant to be messed around with. Imagine striking someone over the head with a concrete block light. Designed by Joshua Howe Design, the concrete block light is topped with a two-toned plastic light diffuser that can rotate 360 degrees. Finished with a small perforated stainless steel bulb cover, the concrete block light makes quite the impact in the home. A solid design, it has a minimalist appeal in spite of the different materials used throughout. The geometric shapes seal the deal. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.2/10 - Popularity: 34% | Activity: 23% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/furniture) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Industrial Aesthetics:** Opportunity for integrating industrial aesthetics into various product designs. - **Minimalist Design:** Opportunity to create minimalist products that combine different materials. - **360-degree Rotation:** Opportunity for creating versatile lighting fixtures with rotating features. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Lighting:** Opportunity for creating innovative lighting fixtures using industrial aesthetics. - **Home Decor:** Opportunity for incorporating minimalist design elements in home decor products. - **Furniture:** Opportunity for integrating 360-degree rotation feature in furniture design. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Modular Brick Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/brick-light.md) - [Illusory Brick Wall Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/og-brick-lamp.md) - [Functional Illuminated Bricks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/og-brick-light.md) - [Minimal Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/takeout-lamp.md) - [Sleek Rechargeable Marbled Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/solid-table-light.md) - [Antique-Style Building Block Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lego-ideas-led-lamp.md) - [Stackable Modular Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/module-table-lamp.md) - [Scenic Architecture Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/architecture-inspired-table-lamp.md) - [Hollow Candle-Like Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lampe.md)
