# Computers of the Future The Curved iMac By lourdes sanchez bayas | Published 2008-02-29 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/computers-of-the-future-the-curved-imac References: [yankodesign](http://www.yankodesign.com/index.php/2008/02/29/curved-imac-has-your-back/) The Curved [iMac](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/deskpod) is a mock-up conceived by designer Nuno Texeira. This mock-up looks simple but impossibly elegant. [Yanko Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/expand-furniture) says.."Designer Nuno Teixeira believes every computer should be two faced and with more curves...Taking a cue from the 1950's CINERAMA wrap-around movie theatre screens, this iMac iMock-up features a giant curved screen(for better orientation to the natural curvature of the human eye) and a second built in LCD screen on the back". Mr. Texeira's Curved iMac seems like a very well articulated design. It is beautiful, appealing, sexy, totally hip and cutting edge. Will we see something resembling that soon from [Apple](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/macintosh-computer-concept) or any of the other industry leaders? One can only hope so. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.4/10 - Popularity: 88% | Activity: 65% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Curved Screens:** The trend of curved screens in computer design presents an opportunity for companies to create visually appealing and ergonomic products. - **Dual-sided Design:** The trend of dual-sided design in computers opens up possibilities for innovative user experiences and multitasking capabilities. - **Incorporating Retro Inspiration:** The trend of incorporating retro elements in computer design allows for unique aesthetics that appeal to nostalgic consumers. ### Who This Affects Most - **Electronics Manufacturing:** The electronics manufacturing industry can leverage the trend of curved screens and dual-sided design to create innovative computer products. - **Computer Hardware:** The computer hardware industry has an opportunity to incorporate retro-inspired designs, like the Curved iMac, to attract consumers looking for distinctive products. - **User Interface Design:** The user interface design industry can explore creative ways to adapt to the trend of dual-sided design and optimize the user experience on innovative computer systems. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Nostalgic Desktop Computer Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/macintosh-computer-concept.md) - [Ultra-Slender All-in-One Computers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/apple-imac-m3.md) - [Retro-Futurism Computer Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tva-multifunctional-computer.md) - [Projection-Style Computer Models](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/macbook-go.md) - [Immersive All-Screen Laptops](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/macbook-folio.md) - [Business-Ready All-in-One Computers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/apple-imac-with-m4.md) - [Screen-Equipped Computer Peripherals](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/magic-mouse-touch.md) - [Sleekly Conceptualized All-in-One PCs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ws1-workstation.md) - [Retro-Style Mini Gamer PCs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ayaneo-retro-mini-pc-am01-1.md)
