# Portable Compact Printers This Printer is Highly Functional and Designed to Look Good in Any Room By Mishal Omar | Published 2016-06-29 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/compact-printer References: [yankodesign](http://www.yankodesign.com/2016/06/27/a-printer-you-wont-despise/) & [ludwigrensch](http://www.ludwigrensch.com/) This compact printer was designed to be aesthetically pleasing and not take up too much space in homes or offices. Designed by Ludwig Rensch, the 'Paper' printer has an unusual design that resembles a briefcase. Rather than paper sliding into a drawer as is the case for most other printers, the paper on this device is rolled up and feeds into the machine as it is needed. With its bright orange design and simplified controls, this printer is as easy to use as it is stylish. The compact printer can perform tasks such as printing, scanning and copying without taking up too much space and without the complex interfaces that most computers offer. Ludwig Rensch completely re-imagines the design of printers and ensures that the everyday devices are not only functional, but simple and aesthetically pleasing. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.3/10 - Popularity: 86% | Activity: 96% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Aesthetically Pleasing Printers:** The trend of designing printers to be visually appealing as well as functional presents opportunities for companies to create unique and stylish printing devices. - **Compact Printer Design:** The trend of developing compact printers that take up minimal space offers opportunities for companies to create portable and space-saving printing solutions. - **Simplified Printer Interfaces:** The trend of creating printers with simplified controls and intuitive interfaces creates opportunities for companies to offer user-friendly printing devices with easy-to-use features. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Consumer Electronics:** The consumer electronics industry can take advantage of the trend of aesthetically pleasing printers by creating innovative and stylish printing devices for home and office use. - **Office Supplies:** The office supplies industry can tap into the trend of compact printer design to offer space-saving printing solutions for businesses and individuals with limited workspace. - **Printing Technology:** The printing technology industry can embrace the trend of simplified printer interfaces to develop user-friendly printing devices with intuitive controls and seamless functionality. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Freestyle Desktop Printers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dual-printer-device.md) - [Paper-Saving Printer Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/roller-jet-printer.md) - [Subtle Smartphone-Friendly Printers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/samsung-image-box.md) - [Industrial Handheld Printer Units](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/scribe-handheld-printer.md) - [Pocket-Sized Smartphone Printers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mobile-instant-photo-printer.md) - [Portable Selfie Printer Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/selphy-qx20.md) - [Vintage-Inspired Label Printers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/niimbot-b21-label-printer.md) - [Advanced Tap-to-Print Printers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/huawei-pixlab-x1.md) - [Artwork-Friendly Smartphone Printers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fujifilm-instax-mini-link-plus.md)
