The “Stay at My Home” kit is touted as “a series of objects for the good host” and is perfect for these situations. The clever and [compact kit](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bookmarker-table) offers a comfortable mattress that can be rolled up and stowed in the [side table unit](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/portable-1). The unit contains a drawer, which holds a cover, pillow and bedside lamp/torch. When the contents are removed for use, the table provides storage for the guest’s belongings. The arrow-shaped carpet adds a certain charm in that it can point the way to an invitation to stay. No more rummaging in the back closet for linens and sleeping bags for unexpected guests--just leave this stylish little number out as part of your permanent decor. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.3/10 - Popularity: 75% | Activity: 76% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Compact Guest Room Solutions:** There is a market for innovating with space-saving, compact guest room solutions like portable mattresses that can be rolled up. - **Multi-functional Furniture:** Innovation opportunities exist by developing multi-functional furniture that saves space and serves multiple purposes like a side table that also serves as a storage unit for rolled up mattresses. - **Creative Storage Solutions:** There is a need for creative storage solutions for smaller homes or apartments, like a drawer in a side table unit that can hold covers and pillows. ### Where This Applies - **Home Furnishings:** The home furnishings industry can innovate by designing compact and flexible furniture like foldable mattresses for guest rooms, which cater to smaller living spaces. - **Hospitality:** The hospitality industry can provide innovative solutions to guests in small hotel rooms by investing in multi-functional furniture and creative storage solutions. - **Interior Design:** Interior designers can create innovative designs for small living spaces that maximize storage and serve multiple functions while preserving style and aesthetic appeal. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Adaptive Furniture Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/expand-furniture.md) - [Sleep-Inclusive Seating Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/eclipse-capsule.md) - [Secret Sleep Pop-Ups](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ikea-sleepeasy.md) - [Expanding Three-in-One Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/expandy.md) - [Hidden Murphy Bed Sofas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tonale-murphy-bed.md) - [Bedside Table-Equipped Suitcases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/suitcase-design.md) - [Space-Saving Convertible Sofas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/coddle-luke-sleeper-sofa.md) - [Hosting-Ready Compact Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mirasol.md) - [Adaptable Bedroom Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mate-bedside-table.md)
