The collection was designed by 'Lanzavecchia + Wai' for the Singapore furniture store 'Journey East.' Called 'PLAYplay,' the compact furniture certainly takes after its name with its [quirky and vivid designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/yonder-collection). The collection's beautiful console that has a zig-zagged exterior on one side and opens up to reveal cabinets comes in bright oranges and purples. The small personal desk also functions as a shelf, allowing it to rest against a wall or sit in the middle of a room. The most interesting piece in this collection is the [table and bench set](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-transformer-table), as it also functions as a ping pong table. This compact furniture collection is perfect for people looking to brighten up their living spaces and decorate with pieces that defy design norms. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.3/10 - Popularity: 91% | Activity: 90% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Gen Alpha, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/furniture) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Multi-functional Furniture:** Design furniture that serves more than one purpose for convenience and space maximization. - **Vivid Color Designs:** Create furniture designs that are colorful and bright to add a playful element to living spaces. - **Innovative Furniture Designs:** Create unique and creative furniture designs that push traditional design norms for a fun and exciting living space. ### Who This Affects Most - **Furniture Industry:** Companies in the furniture industry can create new furniture designs with multi-functional features and playful color schemes for customers looking to maximize space and add some personality to their homes. - **Interior Design Industry:** Interior designers can explore multi-functional furniture options and colorful design trends to create a fun and unique living space for their clients. - **Home Decor Industry:** Home decor companies can incorporate multi-functional furniture and playful color designs into their product offerings to provide an affordable and innovative option for their customers. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Compact Kitchen Furniture Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/compact-kitchen-furniture.md) - [Playful Geometric Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/collection-co.md) - [Adaptive Furniture Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/expand-furniture.md) - [Geometric Cutout Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/designated-table.md) - [Multifunctional Park Picnic Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/foldable-picnic-furniture.md) - [Dynamic Vibrancy Furniture Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/porro-linea.md) - [Compact Furniture Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/boxed-collection.md) - [Compact Functional Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bookmarker-table.md) - [Modular Flatpack Furniture Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/opoo-multifunctional-furniture.md)
