A historic community center in Glasgow, Scotland was saved from demolition by activists and revamped by locally based architecture studio New Practice. Known as the Kinning Park Complex, the building housed a school in the 20th century before closing down and making way for the community center.

The structure was in a poor state when New Practice received the brief. Hence, the project involved substantial renovations and included a face-lift, as well. During the renovation, New Practice focused on increasing accessibility to the different facilities of the historic community center in Glasgow. They also kept sustainability top of mind by adopting "[a reuse and recycle strategy](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wolves-lane-centre)" during the innovation. The studio also relied on a [color-blocking technique](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nantou-hybrid-building) to "animate" the interior of the structure and create a more cheerful atmosphere for communities to enjoy.
