It is a line of [couches, tables, armchairs, benches, storage units](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/norman-foster2) and more that are made specifically for waiting rooms. Completely functional, the pieces [fit together in different arrangements](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/omnio-office). It is this [modular feature](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/agni-modular) that really makes them stand out. The seats making up Common by Naoto Fukasawa are all made from high-density foam that sit on natural oak hardwood feet. Reminiscent of the modern classics, the timeless designs should last until designers yet again feel the need to revamp such common waiting spaces. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.6/10 - Popularity: 58% | Activity: 42% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Contemporary Waiting Room Design:** Opportunity to create innovative and practical waiting room furniture with a modern aesthetic. - **Modular Furniture Solutions:** Potential to develop adaptable and customizable furniture pieces that can be rearranged to suit different waiting room layouts. - **Timeless Waiting Room Designs:** Chance to create enduring and timeless furniture designs for waiting rooms that can withstand evolving design trends. ### Where This Applies - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Disruptive innovation opportunity for furniture manufacturers to produce modular and contemporary waiting room furniture. - **Interior Design:** Opportunity for interior designers to incorporate modular furniture solutions into their waiting room design projects. - **Hospitality:** Chance for hotels, airports, and other hospitality establishments to enhance their waiting areas with contemporary and functional furniture pieces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Cozy Versatile Sofa Modules](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/furniture-fjord.md) - [Modular Configured Office Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cabinet.md) - [Contemporary Modular Sofa Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modular-furniture-piece.md) - [Modular Seating Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flow-seating.md) - [Bright Modular Furniture Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tate-system.md) - [Interchangeable Cushion Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/morfius-modular-furniture.md) - [Mountainous Modular Office Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/summit-furniture.md) - [Contemporary Modular Furniture Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/loopo-system.md) - [Modular Post-Pandemic Office Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/futo-collection-furniture.md)
