# Dialogue Bubble Book Organizers The Comic Shelf Brings Graphic Novels into the Real World By Jason Soy | Published 2012-02-28 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/comic-shelf References: [sweet-station](http://sweet-station.com/blog/2012/02/comic-shelf/) & [behance.net](http://www.behance.net/ponzonia/frame/229950) The Comic Shelf is an absolute necessity for anyone with a passion for graphic novels. After all, the idiosyncratic furniture piece doesn’t only look like a dialogue bubble straight out of comic book, it also lets users [organize their reading materials](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/penguin-x-moebe) in something super sleek. And if you stand underneath the [angled portion of the shelf](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pli-steel-wall-shelf), it’s as though you’re communicating whatever it is you’ve chosen to place on the storage space. The Comic Shelf was designed by Oscar Nunez for Fusca Design. Rather than using rounded dialog boxes, Nunez has opted for a more angular look, which makes sense in order to keep stored objects leveled. Still, it won’t be long until variations of the Comic Shelf start popping up with bizarre designs reminiscent of the pages of graphic novels. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.9/10 - Popularity: 41% | Activity: 67% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/furniture) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Graphic Novel Furniture:** The trend of incorporating graphic novel aesthetics into furniture design offers an opportunity for innovative home decor products. - **Organized Reading Spaces:** Creating sleek and stylish storage solutions for avid readers allows for disruptive innovation in the home organization industry. - **Unique Dialogue Bubble Designs:** Experimenting with unconventional dialog box shapes in furniture opens up possibilities for creative and eye-catching designs. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Furniture:** The furniture industry can explore new design concepts by incorporating graphic novel elements into their products. - **Home Organization:** Innovative storage solutions inspired by graphic novels can disrupt the home organization industry by offering stylish and functional options for book enthusiasts. - **Interior Design:** Graphic novel-themed furniture can revolutionize interior design by adding a playful and unconventional element to living spaces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Abstract Jigsaw-Like Shelving](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spectator-shelf.md) - [Sliding Wintery Landscape Bookshelves](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/manhwabang-bookshelf.md) - [Twisting Donut-Shaped Bookshelves](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hullabaloo-bookshelf.md) - [Minimalist Bookish Shelves](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/minimal-bookshelf.md) - [Personality-Enhancing Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ordo-book.md) - [Video Game-Like Bookcases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tetris-bookcase.md) - [Room-Dividing Bookshelf Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/frquence-shelf.md) - [Dynamic Storage-Display Shelves](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shelf-life.md) - [Double-Tier Manga Shelves](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mg-raiser.md)
