The Colour Countdown game is designed by a group of students at the Piggott School in Reading, England. They are the winners of the [Design Ventury](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/powerhouse-company) competition hosted by the [Design Museum](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/world-of-tim-burton). It is a card game that aids children in learning more about colors from their surroundings.

The competition asked students aged 13 to 16 to create a product that would be sold at the Design Museum gift shop. It is based on two [classic card games: Uno](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/uno-elite-formula-1) and I Spy. The students explain in their pitch to a judging panel, stating "You can play anywhere at all. You draw cards of different colours – red, blue, orange, green etc. – and you have to look around and find objects in that colour."
