# Glowing Floral Facades 'Motisons Jewellers' New HQ has Bright and Colorful Architecture By Laura McQuarrie | Published 2013-05-12 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/colorful-architecture References: [archdaily](http://www.archdaily.com/366817/motisons-tower-kothari-associates/) & [kothariassociates](http://www.kothariassociates.com/entertainment/motisons.html) The [colorful architecture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/swarovski-launches) of 'Motisons Jewellers' new headquarters gives new life to the brand and Indian streetscape. As a well-established jeweler in Jaipur, Motisons wanted the design for its corporate tower to communicate a similarly strong presence. The new construction is mindful of cultural significance; it is modeled after India's national flower -- the sacred lotus. The vibrant floral facade has a striking presence in both the day and night. In the dark, the [individual petals of the leaf-like facade](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bloom-wall-light) can be programmed to glow a different color of LED light. The petals also act as a second skin for the building and provide insulation. To achieve the [complex curves of the glass](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-leaves), Kothari Associates used 3D modeling software Revit to digitally design the entire building before a single brick was laid. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.9/10 - Popularity: 37% | Activity: 42% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Architecture](https://www.trendhunter.com/architecture) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Colorful Architecture:** Developing innovative architectural designs using vibrant colors can create a strong brand presence and enhance the aesthetic appeal of buildings. - **Programmable Light Facades:** Integrating programmable LED lights into building facades allows for dynamic visual displays, enhancing the building's presence both day and night. - **Digital Building Design:** Utilizing 3D modeling software for digital building design offers greater precision and efficiency in construction, enabling architects to achieve complex curves and designs. ### Where This Applies - **Architecture & Construction:** Architects and construction companies can leverage colorful architecture and programmable light facades to differentiate their projects and attract clients seeking unique building designs. - **Retail & Branding:** Retail brands can explore the use of vibrant architectural designs to create visually appealing storefronts and establish a strong brand presence, captivating customers and enhancing the overall shopping experience. - **Software & Technology:** Software companies specializing in 3D modeling and digital building design solutions can provide architects and construction firms with innovative tools for creating complex and visually striking structures. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Glass Pavilion Architecture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/diller-scofidio-renfro2.md) - [Office Building Rainbow Facades](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vertical-rainbow-office.md) - [Recycled Glass Retail Facades](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bulgari-shanghai.md) - [Ultra-Colorful High-Density Residential Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/highdensity-residential-design.md) - [Curved Glass Veiled Stores](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tiffany-co-store.md) - [Glowing Mosaic Offices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/almais-office.md) - [Incredibly Colorful Offices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/colorful-office.md) - [Geometric Jewelry Architecture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nikos-koulis-boutique.md) - [Neon Illustation-Donned Buildings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/crafted-world-exhibition-1.md)
