# Mixed-Style Working Spaces ACDF Architecture's Color-Block Office Embraces Historic Elements By Kalin Ned | Published 2018-11-19 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/colorblock-office References: [dezeen](https://www.dezeen.com/2018/11/18/acdf-architecture-lightspeed-office-interior-montreal/) & [acdf](http://acdf.ca/en/) Software company Lightspeed commissioned Montreal-based design firm [ACDF Architecture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/acdf) to create a harmonious juxtaposition and the result is a romantically infused color-block office. The workspace is located on the ground floor of a 19th-century building. Aa a result, many of the original elements of the structure are present and ACDF Architecture chooses to preserve them for the sake of design. Thus, employees of Lightspeed are able to enjoy a color-block office that is injected with some [historical significance](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/norton-folgate-offices). While the chromatic component brings about a definite contemporary aspect to the space, the 19-century-style architectural aspect creates a striking juxtaposition that truly elevates Lightspeed's offices in Montreal from standard to something exceptional.
