# Explosive Figurine Captures Willson Hennesy's Color Explosion Photography is Bursting and Bright By Simal Yilmaz | Published 2013-02-03 | Tech Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/color-explosion References: [itsnicethat](http://www.itsnicethat.com/articles/wilson-hennessy) & [wilsonhennessy](http://wilsonhennessy.com/) London-based photographer Wilson Hennessy's new series China Bang features [old-fashion figurines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/thrilljoy-pix) caught in the middle of a [color explosion](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/colorscape-installation). Hennesy's subjects in his photography are bold and commonly conceptual. His focus is merely on a single event instead of complex compositions. Within the midst of the explosion, the figurines take a ghostly look, blending with the chaos that surrounds them. I am quite a fan of the [single colors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/profiles-in-color) used in the explosive series, as it balances out the clutter depicted in the composition with a more focused angle. It would be quite appealing to see multiple colors exploding on the white surface as well, but the artist has strictly stuck with the single color and emphasized his work through the bright toning. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.9/10 - Popularity: 48% | Activity: 32% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, South America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Photography](https://www.trendhunter.com/photography) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Color Explosion Photography:** Opportunity for photographers to experiment with bold and vibrant compositions that capture attention. - **Conceptual Figurines:** Opportunity for artists and designers to create unique and visually striking figurines that stand out from traditional designs. - **Focused Angle Composition:** Opportunity for photographers to explore the power of simplicity and minimalism in creating impactful images. ### Where This Applies - **Photography:** Opportunity for photographers to specialize in color explosion photography and offer unique services to clients. - **Art and Design:** Opportunity for artists and designers to create and market conceptual figurines that appeal to collectors and enthusiasts. - **Visual Arts:** Opportunity for photographers and artists to push the boundaries of composition and explore new techniques in visual storytelling. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Inflated-Illusion Ceramic Capsules](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/blow-up.md) - [Artful Bright Glass Vessels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/get-your-rocks-off-honey.md) - [Playful Balloon Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/keff-joons.md) - [Sculpturally Provocative Vases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vibrant-sculptural-vase.md) - [Explosive Candy Launches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/warheads-atomic-fizz.md) - [Blurry Abstract Photography Exhibits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/optical-allusion.md) - [Digital Archetype Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/christian-rex-van-minnen-1.md) - [3D-Printed Colorful Vessels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/olivier-van-herpt-1.md) - [Color Photography Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/profiles-in-color.md)
