# Hair-Swapping Santa Skits The College Humor 'Twelve Beards of Christmas' Short is Holiday Hilarity By Regan Canie | Published 2011-12-21 | Pop Culture Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/college-humor-twelve-beards-of-christmas References: [buzzfeed](http://www.buzzfeed.com/jpmoore/the-twelve-beards-of-christmas) & [collegehumor](http://www.collegehumor.com/video/6669821/the-twelve-beards-of-christmas) If you've ever wondered where the key Santa Clause qualities come from, after watching the College Humor 'Twelve Beards of Christmas' video, it's safe to say that Kris Kringle's festivity is hidden in his facial hair. The sketch begins with an excited child tearing down the stairs in hopes to find Ol' Saint Nick, when he's greeted by the granola version of the holiday legend, rocking some pretty [hippie face stubble](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/beard-in-a-box). The scene replays itself replacing 'Soul Patch Santa' with the likes of gangster 'Pencil Beard Santa' or wise '[Fu Manchu Santa](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/call-of-the-mustaches)'. Each modified becomes increasingly funnier until the short abruptly finishes off with the weapon-wielding original Santa himself. The College Humor 'Twelve Beards of Christmas' will keep you laughing and hoping that the tried-and-true Saint Nick never comes into contact with any reckless razors. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.3/10 - Popularity: 30% | Activity: 60% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Pop Culture](https://www.trendhunter.com/popculture) > [Internet](https://www.trendhunter.com/internet) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Facial Hair Transformations:** Exploring the comedic potential of different beard styles and their impact on character transformation opportunities in entertainment. - **Holiday Parody Skits:** Creating humorous and satirical videos that put a comedic twist on traditional holiday characters. - **Character Archetype Subversion:** Breaking stereotypes and expectations by reimagining iconic characters in unexpected and humorous ways. ### Where This Applies - **Entertainment:** Exploring new ways to entertain audiences through comedic videos and sketches that challenge traditional character depictions. - **Digital Content Creation:** Developing and producing online content that engages viewers through humor and creativity. - **Advertising and Marketing:** Utilizing humorous and engaging videos to promote products and services during the holiday season, capturing consumer attention and increasing brand awareness. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Hilarious Male Grooming Ads](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/manscaped-and-pete-davidson.md) - [Faux Santa Ad Spots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mint-mobile.md) - [Exclusive Men's Grooming Kits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/handsomer-for-the-holidays.md) - [Moustachioed Holiday Margaritas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/santas-secret-stache-marg.md) - [Health-Conscious Holiday Drink Ads](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tenzing-christmas-ad.md) - [Rental App Holiday Campaigns](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/santastrophe.md) - [Light-Hearted Christmas Films](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/barbour-x-shaun-the-sheep.md) - [Quirky AI Holiday Projects](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/a-very-ai-yule-log.md) - [Personalized Holiday Videos](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/naughty-or-nice-video.md)
