The set contains 32 pewter pieces that depict miniature sculptures of the cast. The likeness to the characters is so realistic that they were individually approved by the actors. Each silver figure is mounted on a green and yellow or blue and yellow base. Underneath the board, there is a mounted map of Middle Earth. The base of the board depicts other Lord of the Rings characters and scenes from the Peter Jackson's interpretation of the classic J.R.R. Tolkein trilogy.
