The compact, bucket-like appliance features washing machine technology inside that's capable of washing small items like socks and underwear from the bathroom. This will eliminate the need to constantly hit up a laundromat or even to avoid use of a full-size washing machining the home to conserve water and energy. The collapsible washing machine concept collapses down when not in use to be stored away between cycles and features a simple interface on the front for managing operation. The unit is also great for urbanites in apartments to easily wash garments in a compact way. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.0/10 - Popularity: 93% | Activity: 73% | Freshness: 15% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Collapsible Appliances:** There is opportunity for further development of collapsible appliances that make laundry and other household necessities easier to manage and store in small urban spaces. - **Compact Home Solutions:** Developing more compact home solutions like the portable washing machine can offer convenience and savings for people with limited space. - **Sustainable Home Appliances:** Manufacturing washing machines that require less water and energy can be a disruptive innovation opportunity for companies looking to create sustainable home appliances. ### Who This Affects Most - **Home Appliances:** Home appliance manufacturers can improve urbanites' lives by designing smaller appliances, thereby improving convenience. - **Sustainability:** The manufacturing of sustainable home appliances has the potential to disrupt current norms and lead the way in water and energy conservation practices. - **Real Estate:** Real estate companies can market apartments and housing units as being compatible with unique, compact home solutions for people who value minimalism and convenience. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Portable Washing Machine Appliances](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/folding-washing-machine.md) - [Foldable Portable Washing Machines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pqp-design.md) - [Miniature Portable Washing Machines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/conceptual-mini-washing-machine.md) - [Portable Ultrasonic Washing Machines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mini-washing-machine-concept.md) - [Bedroom-Sized Washing Machines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mini-drum-washing-machine.md) - [Portable Mini Washing Machines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gsoak.md) - [Collapsible Microwave Appliances](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/foldable-microwave.md) - [Ultra-Modern Toy-Like Washing Machines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/toshin-machine.md) - [Multipurpose Portable Washing Machines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wonertool-portable-washing-machine.md)
