With "AKMA" dervied from a Korean word that means "devil," the machine truly does have qualities that make it quite wicked looking. Standing tall like a piece of gothic architecture, the rust-proof aluminum machine is designed for [cold drip coffee](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cumulus-coffee-machine) with its three-litre water tank. For the most part, gravity does all of the work in making the coffee. The unusual coffee machine stands on tall legs and has flasks that can be pulled out to retrieve the coffee. Despite how elaborate this design looks, it's said to be quite easy to clean, since its parts can be disassembled as needed. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.0/10 - Popularity: 72% | Activity: 70% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Steampunk-inspired Coffee Machines:** Disruptive innovation opportunity for coffee machine manufacturers to create elaborate designs for coffee enthusiasts. - **Gothic-inspired Kitchen Appliances:** Disruptive innovation opportunity for appliance manufacturers to create visually striking designs for everyday appliances. - **Cold Drip Coffee Machines:** Disruptive innovation opportunity for coffee machine manufacturers to create more efficient and aesthetically pleasing cold drip coffee machines. ### Who This Affects Most - **Coffee Machine Manufacturing:** Manufacturers can capitalize on the trend of elaborate and visually distinct coffee machines by designing more steampunk and gothic-inspired models. - **Kitchen Appliance Manufacturing:** Manufacturers can capitalize on the trend of visually striking kitchen appliances by creating gothic-inspired models and incorporating unique design features into everyday appliances. - **Coffee Shops:** Coffee shops can capitalize on the trend of cold drip coffee by offering a wider variety of cold drip options and incorporating steampunk-inspired coffee machines into their interior design. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Character Coffee Makers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-moky.md) - [Slick Minimalist Coffee Machines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/minimalist-coffee-machine.md) - [Spiral Coffee Brewers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/italian-moka-coffee-pot.md) - [Instrument-Resembling Coffee Machines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/trumpet-coffee.md) - [Industrial Concrete Coffee Makers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/grisbrew-espresso-maker.md) - [Ritual-Driven Coffee Makers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ratio-eight-series-2-coffee-machine.md) - [Old-Fashioned Espresso Machines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/retro-modern-espresso-machine.md) - [Computer-Inspired Coffee Makers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/apple-drip.md) - [Single-Cup Workstation Coffee Makers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/brewster-dcm5000.md)
