# Microsoft Window Mugs Coffee_Interface Cups Mirror the Functions in the Corner of Your Screen By Amelia Roblin | Published 2011-06-03 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/coffee-interface References: [industrialdesignserved](http://www.industrialdesignserved.com/gallery/coffee_interface/1239303) Western society loves technology, and these Coffee_Interface mugs by Alex Nesterenko are the perfect example of ways in which it infiltrates even low-tech trinkets. Each individual teacup takes the futuristic form of a cube, and four of its facets picture different [computer commands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/windows-xp-crocs). These are the buttons found in the upper right corner of an active window on a computer's monitor, while a look at the saucer reveals a open window itself. A red X represents Exit, while commands for minimizing and reducing the view size of a program are also present on the sides of the [coffee cup](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/texture-ware). The top bar of the saucer is a tiny trough that receives a small [cursor spoon](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/susan-kare), and the whole Coffee_Interface collection lined up bears a striking familiarity to the digital symbols you see each day. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.9/10 - Popularity: 61% | Activity: 18% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Futuristic Trinkets:** Designing everyday objects with a futuristic touch opens up opportunities for unique and innovative products. - **Tech-inspired Aesthetics:** Incorporating tech-inspired designs in traditional items provides a fresh perspective and appeals to tech-savvy consumers. - **Digitally Influenced Artwork:** Creating artwork that reflects digital symbols and computer commands allows for the intersection of technology and art. ### Who This Affects Most - **Home Decor:** Integrating tech-inspired designs into home decor items like mugs and cups presents an opportunity for unique and trendy products. - **Giftware:** Developing tech-themed gift items, such as digital symbol-inspired mugs, appeals to the growing market of tech enthusiasts looking for creative presents. - **Art and Design:** Exploring the intersection of technology and art creates a space for artists to showcase their creativity and engage tech-savvy consumers. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Functional Keyboard Cups](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/teacup-version-gboard.md) - [Bell-Shaped Coffee Mugs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mario-mug.md) - [Computer-Inspired Coffee Makers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/apple-drip.md) - [Cube Aluminium Espresso Cups](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/unavela.md) - [Hidden Cat Kitchenware](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cute-cat-coffee-cup.md) - [Handle-Free Coffee Mugs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pinch-hold.md) - [Minimalist One-Button Coffee Makers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/muuto-coffee-maker.md) - [Connected Communicative Tea Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gptea-set.md) - [Character Coffee Makers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-moky.md)
