Dagna Napierała’s stunning ‘Cocoon’ art series is an interesting one that shows what a difference [color choice](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/colorscape-installation) can make. Napierała has two versions of the Cocoon sculptures: one light version and one dark.

The light version seems to be made up of airy, feathery pieces, while the darker version takes on the characteristics of heavy serpentine-like scales. The contrast is an interesting one, especially since the construction of both pieces is the same, although the overall forms of the Cocoon sculptures differ a little bit.

Both of the pieces in the Cocoon series created by Napierała slightly resemble Kate MccGwire’s unusual [feather sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/phantom-lighting), which have the same sort of eerie and slightly monstrous quality to them.
