# Cookie-Coated Caramel Apples DudeFoods' Coated Caramel Apple Uses Oreo's Caramel Apple Cookies By Laura McQuarrie | Published 2014-09-23 | Lifestyle Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/coated-caramel-apple References: [dudefoods](http://dudefoods.com/caramel-apple-oreo-coated-caramel-apples/) There are tons of toppings that you can put on a coated caramel apple, but when Oreo introduced its Caramel Apple cookies this year, it didn't take long before someone decided to create a caramel apple coated with caramel apple-flavored cookies. Instead of nuts or candy pieces, the 'Caramel Apple Oreo Coated Caramel Apple' recipe from DudeFoods makes use of crushed up cookie bits to coat the outside of the gooey caramel apple. The creation is so covered up, there's not a trace of the actual fruit to be seen, and you can bet that this would be one messy snack to eat. With double the caramel and apple flavors than usual candy apple recipe, this is one sweet treat. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.5/10 - Popularity: 30% | Activity: 37% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Lifestyle](https://www.trendhunter.com/lifestyle) > [Food](https://www.trendhunter.com/food) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Caramel Apple Flavored Snacks:** Opportunity to create and market new snacks with the popular caramel apple flavor. - **Gourmet Coated Apples:** Opportunity for high-end restaurants to introduce gourmet coated apples as a dessert option. - **Unique Dessert Toppings:** Trend towards unique and creative dessert toppings in the food industry. ### Who This Affects Most - **Food and Beverage:** Industry involved in producing, distributing, and selling food and beverage products. - **Hospitality:** Industry providing accommodations, food, and beverage services to customers. - **Confectionery:** Industry involved in producing and selling candy and other sweets. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Autumnal Apple Caramel Cookies](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/apple-caramel-cookie.md) - [Bakery-Inspired Sandwich Cookies](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/oreoid-orchard-limited-edition-cookie-pack.md) - [Chocolate Cookie-Topped Treats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/oreo-topped.md) - [Apple Crumb Cake Cookies](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/apple-crumb-cake.md) - [Cookie-Topped Dessert Collaborations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/auntie-annes-and-cinnabon.md) - [Caramel Apple Ice Creams](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/caramel-apple-ice-cream.md) - [Caramel Popcorn-Studded Cookies](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/caramel-popcorn-cookie.md) - [Spooky Halloween Snack Hybrids](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cookie-pop1.md) - [Multisensorial Gourmet Cookies](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nerds-sugar-crush-cookie.md)
