This design is a perfect statement piece that will look stunning in the foyer of a home, yet is elegant and dainty enough to fit nicely in a bedroom or walk-in closet. Skinny long limbs interact and cross over each other, creating a symmetrically balanced design with a sturdy base that takes up hardly any space at all. Along the top branches, glitches are systematically placed, making it seem like some ninja has sliced the rods with a super sharp blade and it has yet to fall apart. The interruptions in the otherwise straight lines make for eye-catching details that turn the 'Modified' coat rack into an [artistic piece of home decor](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pratone-chair). ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.6/10 - Popularity: 34% | Activity: 7% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/furniture) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Sculptural Home Decor:** Taewoo Kim's 'Modified' coat rack demonstrates the opportunity for designers to create aesthetically interesting and functional home decor pieces. - **Glitched Design Elements:** The strategic placement of glitches in the coat hangers opens up opportunities for designers to incorporate visually interesting design elements into their products. - **Space-saving Storage Solutions:** The sleek and compact design of the 'Modified' coat rack provides a disruptive innovation opportunity for designers to create space-saving storage solutions for small living spaces. ### Where This Applies - **Furniture Design:** Companies and designers in the furniture industry can leverage the trend of sculptural home decor and create inspiring and functional pieces such as Taewoo Kim's coat rack. - **Interior Design:** Interior design companies and professionals can incorporate unique design elements like the strategically placed glitches in the 'Modified' coat hanger to create unique and visually appealing environments for their clients. - **Home Organization Products:** The 'Modified' coat rack demonstrates an opportunity for organizations that provide home organization and storage solutions to create space-saving products that double as decorative pieces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Sporty Climbing-Inspired Hangers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/grip-hanger.md) - [Quirky Structural Clothes Hangers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hang-we.md) - [Chinese Character-Shaped Coat Racks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/resting-coat-rack.md) - [Geometrically Shaped Hanger Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/triangle-hanger.md) - [Modular Minimal Wardrobe Hangers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/koi-cloths.md) - [Rotating Punctuation Mark Hangers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/emotion-hanger.md) - [Open-Concept Clothing Racks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bauhutte-clothes-hanger-rack.md) - [Storage-Conscious Clothing Hangers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/coat-hingers.md) - [Playful Monkey-Inspired Coat Stands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/monkey-coat-stand.md)
