Created by Vancouver, Canada company Hurdler Studios, the Clug is essentially a [flexible C-shaped bracket](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/grip-hanger). The bracket has a clipper section that is screwed into the wall. It is fitted with a template -- incorporated into its cardboard packaging -- which helps you establish where exactly the holes need to be drilled. It can also be attached using adhesive picture-mounting strips. The Clug's gripper section is then placed inside the wall-mounted clipper. The clipper provides the tension needed to hold onto the bike's front tire, while the gripper provides the grip. The Clug's designers are currently running a [Kickstarter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cleat-attachment) campaign to raise funds for their product. The current version of the Clug is designed to fit skinnier road bike tires, although a bigger model compatible with mountain bike tires is also in the works. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.8/10 - Popularity: 96% | Activity: 71% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Lifestyle](https://www.trendhunter.com/lifestyle) > [Sports](https://www.trendhunter.com/sports) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Simple Storage Solutions:** Designing simple and easy to use storage solutions can be a disruptive innovation opportunity in the bike storage industry. - **Flexible Brackets:** The use of flexible brackets creates an opportunity for innovation in the bike storage industry that addresses the need for versatile and adaptable designs. - **Intuitive Hardware Design:** Designing hardware that is intuitive to install and use can be a disruptive innovation opportunity in the bike storage industry. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Home Improvement:** The Clug represents a disruptive innovation in the home improvement industry that addresses the need for easy and versatile bike storage solutions. - **Bicycle Accessories:** The Clug represents a disruptive innovation in the bike accessory industry that addresses the need for innovative and elegant bike storage solutions. - **Sustainability:** Incorporating sustainable and eco-friendly materials into bike storage solutions represents a disruptive innovation opportunity in the sustainability industry. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Handlebar Bike Gear Clips](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gear-clip.md) - [Tri-Functional Bicycle Racks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/trifunctional-bicycle-rack.md) - [Ultra-Compact Bike Conversion Kits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/clip-electric-motor.md) - [Foldable Flatpack Bike Racks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ahha-toaster-bike-rack.md) - [Modular Bike Racks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sonder-x-skarper.md) - [Comfortable Cycling Cleat Attachments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cleat-attachment.md) - [Wheel-Wedging Folding Bicycles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wheel-wedging-folding-bicycle.md) - [Capsule-Stored Cycling Multitools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/capsule-cycling-multitool.md) - [Compact Cyclist Car Mounts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lightbull-rack.md)
