# Portable Igloos The Cloud is An Inflatable Domicile (UPDATE) By TrendHead | Published 2009-01-04 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/clouds-for-homes-portable-space-designed-by-monica-foerster References: [lifeiscarbon](http://www.lifeiscarbon.com/weblog/2008/11/naturally-inspired-design.html#more) & [designboom](http://www.designboom.com/snapshots/milan_02/snowcrash.html) This is a wonderful portable blow-up space called The Cloud. It is designed by Monica Förster, a Swedish designer who is internationally renowned for her creations in contemporary Swedish design. You can simply carry the cloud house with you and set it up anywhere and anytime you like. It takes less than 3 minutes for the igloo-like shape to inflate. What a great design. This would be useful for many occasions, whether you find yourself homeless or just in need of shade. It is only natural that Monica Förster has been awarded Designer of the Year in Sweden several times. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.9/10 - Popularity: 60% | Activity: 49% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Portable Blow-up Spaces:** Opportunity for creating innovative, easily transportable inflatable structures for various uses and occasions. - **On-demand Shelters:** Potential for developing portable and quick-to-assemble structures for emergency situations or temporary housing needs. - **Mobile Outdoor Living:** Potential for designing inflatable domiciles that provide comfortable and portable outdoor living spaces. ### Who This Affects Most - **Outdoor Recreation:** Opportunity for developing inflatable structures to enhance camping, glamping, and outdoor recreational experiences. - **Emergency Response:** Opportunity for creating inflatable shelters for emergency aid and disaster relief efforts. - **Event Planning:** Opportunity for providing inflatable structures for temporary event setups and mobile venues. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Inflated Design Classroom Spaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/intermittent-dome.md) - [Self-Building Igloo Makers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/inland-iglu.md) - [Textile Igloo Bedrooms](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/takk.md) - [Climate-Responsive Prefab Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/drop-pod.md) - [Four-Season Inflatable Tents](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fourseason-inflatable-tent.md) - [Cloud-Inspired Furniture Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cloud-tables1.md) - [Modular Inflatable Gear](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/conqueror-inflatable.md) - [Origami-Inspired Disaster Relief Pods](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/prefab-folding-pods.md) - [Inflatable Stormproof Geodesic Tents](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/heimplanet-kirra.md)
