The device is run by a small battery that allows for easy access to files on the go, without the need for a computer. This is ideal for business travelers, or anyone who likes to have their data handy. Smartphones are becoming more and more advanced, almost acting as mini-laptops, and iPads especially are becoming predominant items that many are purchasing due to its simplicity and accessibility. It also has the added bonus of a backup, along with the ability to store data in Cloud. The CloudFTP is a project that is seeking funding on KickStarter in order to make this useful product available to many. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.6/10 - Popularity: 32% | Activity: 39% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, South America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/gadgets) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Wireless USB Connectivity:** There is an opportunity for companies that can develop wireless USB technology that can connect to various devices without the need for a computer. - **Cloud-based Storage Devices:** Companies could develop portable storage devices that can store data in the cloud, providing easy access to important files on the go. - **Small Portable Batteries:** There is potential for companies that can develop small, efficient batteries that can power devices like the CloudFTP without needing a charging point for an extended period of time. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Technology:** There is room for innovation in the technology industry to develop USB connectivity devices that can connect to different devices wirelessly and provide access to important files on the go. - **Consumer Electronics:** Companies in the consumer electronics industry can create cloud-based storage devices that can easily be transported and accessed from multiple devices. - **Renewable Energy:** The development of small and efficient batteries by companies in the renewable energy industry would enable portable devices like the CloudFTP to run for a long time without the need for a charging point. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Portable Photo Storage Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/photocube-pd-plus.md) - [Four-Way Connective Flash Drives](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/centralspot-innovation.md) - [Data-Backup Phone Chargers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/qubii-power.md) - [Portable NAS Storage Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/unifydrive-ut2.md) - [Mobile Device Photography Drives](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/thephotostick-omni.md) - [Private Electronic Storage Tools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/etsme.md) - [Automated File Backup Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/synology-beedrive.md) - [Multifunctional External Storage Drives](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/onemodern-m6.md) - [External Storage Computer Hubs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/beelink-expand-f.md)
