This stool was first displayed at the 2010 DYM show in Germany. Joon & Jung are Joonsoo Kim and Jungyou Cho, and they are fans of [cloud-like things](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mon-nuage). I encourage you to check out their website after you see the Cloud Stool above. I'm surprised by the fact that the 'Cloud Stool' is [soft rather than hard](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/knit-one-chair). ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.7/10 - Popularity: 5% | Activity: 8% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Braided Seating:** Incorporating braided elements into seating designs opens up opportunities for unique and visually striking furniture pieces. - **Cloud-like Furniture:** Designing furniture inspired by clouds creates a whimsical and dreamy aesthetic that can enhance the overall ambiance of any space. - **Soft Seating:** Using soft materials for seating instead of traditional hard surfaces introduces comfort and relaxation into contemporary furniture designs. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Furniture manufacturers can explore incorporating braiding techniques and cloud-inspired designs into their product lines to cater to consumers seeking unique and innovative seating options. - **Interior Design:** Interior designers can incorporate cloud-like furniture into their projects to create visually captivating and enchanting spaces that evoke a sense of wonder and relaxation. - **Home Decor Retail:** Home decor retailers can embrace the trend of soft seating and offer a wide range of comfortable furniture options, appealing to customers looking to elevate the coziness and comfort of their living spaces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Rock Climbing-Inspired Stools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cling-stool.md) - [Cloud-Inspired Furniture Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cloud-tables1.md) - [Bubble-Inspired Bulbous Stools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bubble-stool.md) - [Balloon-Like Seating Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/seungjin-yang.md) - [East-Meets-West-Inspired Layered Stools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cornice.md) - [Cross Leg-Supported Stools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/euljiro.md) - [Childhood-Informed Dome Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-clodette-chair.md) - [Plush Sculptural Lounge Sofas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rokko.md) - [Stainless Steel Reflective Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dream-view-chair.md)
