# Ferris Wheel Drying Frames The Clothes Horse Opens Up into a Circular Stand for Optimal Aeration By Amelia Roblin | Published 2014-01-05 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/clothes-horse References: [weburbanist](http://weburbanist.com/2014/01/02/space-saver-star-shaped-design-reinvents-the-drying-rack/) & [aarondunkerton](http://www.aarondunkerton.com/clothes-horse.html) The Clothes Horse delivers an effective balance between spacing out your damp duds and assuming as small a footprint on your floor as possible. Many [laundry drying racks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zera-lab-launbot) take up a large area, becoming inconvenient obstacles in homes on a weekly basis. Aaron Dunkerton's design can be collapsed completely to assume the dimensions of 56 centimeters by 32 centimeters by 23cm, permitting easy storage in a closet or in a cupboard. Draw it outwards, however, and the many [hinged wooden slats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/charity-hanger) will separate into diamond-like shapes, spacing out plenty of aluminum rods within what becomes a closed off 12-pointed star. You end up with plenty of room for your [wet fabrics](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rewear-chair) to breathe on the Clothes Horse, and it's easy enough to roll the contraption into position on your porch or indoors. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.4/10 - Popularity: 57% | Activity: 36% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: South America, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Drying Rack Innovation:** The Ferris Wheel Drying Frames provides a unique and compact solution for drying clothes, offering convenience and space efficiency. - **Collapsible Design:** The collapsible feature of the Clothes Horse allows for easy storage and portability, catering to the needs of those with limited space. - **Optimal Aeration:** The diamond-like shapes and aluminum rods in the Clothes Horse facilitate optimal airflow, ensuring faster and more effective drying of fabrics. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Home Organization:** The Ferris Wheel Drying Frames present an opportunity for the home organization industry to offer innovative solutions that maximize space and efficiency in laundry rooms. - **Furniture Manufacturing:** The collapsible design of the Clothes Horse opens up opportunities for furniture manufacturers to create versatile and space-saving products for urban living environments. - **Fabric Care:** The optimal aeration provided by the Clothes Horse highlights the potential for fabric care companies to develop new drying solutions that improve the efficiency and quality of drying clothes. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Space-Efficient Drying Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spaceefficient-drying.md) - [Ceiling-Mounted Laundry Racks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/goodliving.md) - [Open-Concept Clothing Racks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bauhutte-clothes-hanger-rack.md) - [Expanding Garment Hangers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flip-hanger.md) - [Compact Laundry-Hanging Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hangdrying-system.md) - [Compact Portable Dish Racks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dish-rack-2.md) - [Tripod-Like Garment Racks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/multifunctional-coat-rack.md) - [Smart-Designed Clothes Dryers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smartdesigned-clothes-dryer.md) - [Vertical Bathroom Drying Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gordan.md)
